In 2025, the City of Albuquerque honored him by renaming the rooftop decks atop the event center at Balloon Fiesta Park:
- The larger east-side area is now the Tom Rutherford Deck
- The smaller west-side space, where Tom often announced from, is now the Tom Rutherford Broadcast Deck
These decks continue to serve as important gathering and broadcast spaces, including livestream coverage that reaches ballooning enthusiasts around the world.
