Held annually the second weekend in February since 1975, the Friends and Lovers Balloon Rally is produced by the Albuquerque Aerostat Ascension Association (AAAA). Over 100 balloons, including special shapes and sport balloons, fill the Albuquerque skyline on this winter weekend. While this rally is open to the public it is mainly put on to recognize the multitude of balloon crew members in the area.
